The Ohio State University will welcome representatives from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) for a campus site visit in mid-August. The visit will include a community and networking event focused on advancing support for caregivers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM).
In partnership with the College of Medicine’s Physician Scientist Education and Training (PSET) program and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the event will showcase best practices for supporting caregivers in STEMM.
A featured presentation will be delivered by Ginny L. Bumgardner, MD, PhD, Associate Dean of PSET/PI, who will share outcomes from the Funds to Retain Clinical Scientists (FRCS) initiative. This program, supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF), aims to reduce attrition among physician-scientists and other faculty and staff in the STEMM community facing caregiving challenges.
